New features in CiMSO Software version 4.33

We’re excited to announce the latest CiMSO Software Suite Version 4.33 updates, released in October 2024. This update introduces valuable enhancements across various modules, improving functionality, reporting, and the overall user experience.
ACTIVities
- Activity Pax Report Enhancement: The Activity Pax report now has a “Notes” column, enabling users to add text notes for each reservation, improving tracking and communication for individual activities.
ASSETmanager
- Advanced Reporting Options: The Asset Reporting feature now has list-box filters, which allow for advanced viewing and printing options for customized report outputs.
- Partial Asset Disposal Support: Asset management now supports partial asset disposal, allowing users to set a quantity of “0” and update the carrying value for more precise tracking of partial disposals.
BACKoffice Finance
Several updates add detailed fields, reporting flexibility, and enhanced financial controls:
- Transaction Console Report: A “Profit Percentage” field was added for a more detailed transaction analysis.
- F900—Transaction Allocation List Report: It now includes “Exclusive” and “Tax Amount” columns for additional financial details.
- G312 – Financial Activity Detail Report: A “Creation Date” field has been added, offering greater transaction detail.
- F710 – Transaction Recon Report: Now displays system and support staff, supporting comprehensive transaction audits.
- F808 – Custom Report Console Preset: Users can now save and recall custom reports using a new console preset feature, streamlining the process for recurring report setups.
- F700 – Transaction Line Report: Adding a “Stock Price Inclusive” column allows users to view stock prices, including tax, within the report.
- Transaction Report – Bank Reconciliation Enhancement: Under the Ledger tab and Bank Reconciliation button, the original cash book batch number now appears in the bank reconciliation view. Additionally, a bulk selection feature allows the selection of all transactions from the same batch, simplifying reconciliation tasks.
These enhancements in Version 4.33 support greater efficiency and flexibility across financial operations, bringing more control and precision to daily workflows.
CONFIGuration: BACKoffice Security
The latest CiMSO Software Suite Version 4.33 introduces new security items under CONFIGuration within the System Settings under Security Presets and Security Items across various modules, providing enhanced administrative control and user access management.
Administration Security Items
New security permissions for more granular control in administration functions include:

SHOPkeeper Security Items
New permissions specific to the SHOPkeeper module include:
- [1555] Access to the ‘To Account / With Payment’ toggle button
- [1554] Permission to process debtor transactions with payment
RESTaurateur Security Item
An additional permission for the RESTaurateur module:
- [1550] Permission to use products with no quantity on hand
These enhancements bring added security measures across different roles, supporting better control over sensitive operations and transaction processes within the CiMSO software suite.
BACKoffice Accounting
Account management and financial tracking enhancements allow greater control over prioritization, transaction categories, and customer assignment, along with updates specific to various modules. Several enhancements are available under the Configuration menu:
- Under Configuration’s “Financial Settings”, then the Departments Tab, and under the “Options” tab, a client account priority by account group has been added, called “Priority account group on transactions”.
- Under Configuration’s “Financial Settings,” then the Departments Tab, and under the “Options” tab, a new option called “Nightsbridge booking source” allows you to set the booking source to Nightsbridge bookings.
- Under Configuration’s “Packages” tab, booking package categories are now visible in tree format to visually enhance nested packages.
- Stock quantities have been added to generic rules under Configuration’s “System Settings” and the Generic Rules Tab.
- Under Configuration’s “Financial Settings” and the Spending Limits, a new duration Limit Type (Current Financial Year) has been created for spending limits.
- Under Configuration’s “System Settings”, then Security Settings and under Reports, a new column called “Creation Date” can now be used to be added to the Staff Security Report.
- Under Configuration’s “Financial Settings,” then the Departments Tab, and under the “Options” tab, an option to limit member point spending per transaction has been added: “Limit point spending per transaction.”
- Under Configuration’s “System Settings” and the Generic Rules Tab, a generic rule condition called “is in-house on reference date” was added.
- Under Configuration’s “Financial Settings”, then the Departments Tab, and under the “Options” tab, an option was added to “Allow recipe items in procurement”.
- Under Configuration’s “System Settings”, and the Generic Rules Tab, a generic rule condition was added, called “stock has status”, i.e. “Stock has status TREAT Treatment”.
- Under Configuration’s “Staff Setup”, then the Security Tab, a copy functionality to staff security entries was added.
- Under Configuration’s “Financial Settings”, then the Departments Tab, and under the “Options” tab, an option was added for “Default bank transfer on payment”.
GOLFmanager
- New shotgun booking features and online functionality in the Golf Grid’s Shotgun tab.
- PIN login capabilities added for GOLFmanager users.
- “Group on day” option now available in GOLFmanager’s Consoles tab, Tee Bookings tab.
- Client field added to Transaction Recon under GOLFmanager’s SHOPkeeper.
INNkeeper Front Office & Reservations
CiMSO’s latest INNkeeper update introduces a variety of new features to enhance Front Office and Reservation management. This version introduces additional fields in reports, refined booking features, and expanded options for customization across the Client Statement Report, Voucher Console, Occupancy Grid, and more.
- Under the Client Statement Report, a new option, “hide deposit transactions” was added. This will remove DDH, DDHR, DDA, and DDAR transactions from consideration, if selected.
- The Nightly billing function in the occupancy grid, under transactions, allows selection of an added “Billing” (instruction) field.
- The Transaction console has an added “golfer count” field as part of the Field Selection visibility.
- Under Client Financial and Statement/listing, the option to add “creation date” to a transaction invoice header has been added under the report setup.
- The Voucher Console’s “Voucher Search” Tab has added a search frame to add “redeemed transaction details”.
- Selecting a booking under the Occupancy Grid, and selecting create/edit a booking, the option to copy rates (including rate overrides) to other bookings on the Booking Edit form was added.
- When copying a booking under the Occupancy grid, the option to create default deposits when copying bookings has been added.
- Opening the “Create a new booking” window from the Occupancy Grid, and then the “Edit Rate Overrides”, a selection of special rates for each day has been implemented.
- Guest Remarks Notes can now be added as part of the Booking Record Report that can be accessed from the Occupancy Grid.
- Under “F220 – Accounts Transaction and Ageing Report”, a Booking Reference field/column can be added.
- Under “B421- In-House Extras” report, a Stock Group filter has been added to the report.
- Under Create a New Booking, the Preferences button opens the Client Preferences window with multi-client display functionality.
- Occupancy Grid, under Reports and then the Booking Summary, the ability was added to “Display Date”. This field will display the date that the Invoice was printed.
- Additional fields/column options were added to the B123a “Booking Rate and Package Breakdown” Report. The fields are “Adults”, “Children” and “Bookings”.
- In the “B181 – Unit Allocation Report” under Occupancy Grid’s Reports, a “Client” filter was added.
- In the “B294 – Bookings Payments & Sales Report”, general ledger and ledger account filter options were added.
- Opening the “Create a new booking” window from the Occupancy Grid, and then the “Edit Rate Overrides”, a “Unit Type” option was added to the Booking Rate Overrides Printout/Report.
- In the “B411 – Booking Meals Forecast Report”, the ability to save and load preset reports was added.
- Occupancy Grid’s “Create Booking by Unit Type” has “Unit Types” and “Categories” filter options added.
- In the “B201 – Booking Console” under Occupancy Grid’s Reports, a “Booker Nationality” filter/column was added and can be used under Hierarchy Order.
- Opening the “Create a new booking” window from the Occupancy Grid, and under the “Rate And Deposit’s” Rate field, an option was created to add a Marketing description by selecting the question mark to the right of the field.
- Opening the “Create a new booking” window from the Occupancy Grid, and then the “Change Log” button, has an added feature to show “Deposit Rule Override Change Log” entries for bookings.
- Occupancy Grid’s “Create Booking by Unit Type” has “Unit Types” and “Categories” filter options added.
- Occupancy Grid’s “Booking Statement” has an added option to use the departure date as the invoice date in the header details for booking invoices/summaries/statements.
- In the “B171 – Accommodation Report Options” under Occupancy Grid’s Reports, two extra fields were added. The fields are “Required Booking Sources” and “Options”.
- When right-clicking on a booking in the occupancy grid, the “Copy Booking” feature has the added option to set the “target departure date” and to only set values for “All Targets” or “Selected Targets Only”.
- In the Events tab under Reservations, and then the Guests-tab, a feature for a basic mass barcode report has been added.
- The process scheduler.exe received an added feature process for automatically cancelling bookings based on schedules, with system warning before confirming cancelled bookings.
STOCKmanager
CiMSO’s STOCKmanager module has also received several updates in this release, bringing new functionalities to improve inventory and stock management processes.
- C211 – Stock Cost: Show stock without Quantity on Hand (QOH) records.
- C821 – Stock Reports: Print stock take with notes and a footer document.
- C101 – Stock List: An “Access Restriction” column has been added (hidden by default).
- C205 – Recipe List: Ingredient cost percentage field/column.
- C201 – Stock Price List: Option to only list prices for main unit.
SHOPkeeper Point of Sale
CiMSO has streamlined point-of-sale functionalities with new features across both SHOPkeeper and RESTaurateur:
- Under SHOPkeeper, an option is available to disable the Print buttons, preventing users from accidentally toggling them on or off.
RESTaurateur Point of Sale
CiMSO has streamlined point-of-sale functionalities with new features across both SHOPkeeper and RESTaurateur:
- Under RESTaurateur’s Product Button, a Setup feature has been added to make the product available for online sales.
- Users of RESTaurateur Point of Sale login now have the added ability to change their PIN directly from the login page.
- When recalling a transaction in RESTaurateur, an A4 Transaction print option is available, in addition to the usual slip/chit printer.
- Under Reports, an option to show the “Last Change” date & time is now available on the Void Report.
- Under the Generate QR code feature, additional view/filter options have been added for more detailed viewing, including the option to add restaurant tables by department.
- Under RESTaurateur’s Cash-up feature, cash-up now shows the total number of opened, voided, and paid tabs for each staff member.
WORKflow
New tools in task and diary management ensure smoother workflows:
- TASK MANAGER: Under Configuration’s “Financial Settings”, then the Departments Tab, and under the “Options” tab, an option has been added to set “Task alarm does not pop-up”.
- TASK MANAGER: A feature has been added to the Task Manager tab, with a red “alarm” glyph that blinks on the main tab to indicate outstanding tasks.
- TASK MANAGER: Pop-up handling features on the task tab itself (only when no-pop is enabled) highlight changed tasks until selected, making it easy to see what has been viewed. Additionally, a new option is available on the task form to always include the logged-in staff member’s tasks in the results (applicable to logged-in staff as creator or as target staff).
- DIARIES: A function has been added to print diary search results.
New Integrations
ProfitRoom API integration into CiMSO INNkeeper is now available as an additional channel manager and/or on-line reservation options.
Geographic Specific
NAMIBIA – Hospitality Association of Namibia (HAN) monthly industry statistics report (B171B) is now available, enabling auto-calculation and submission directly from the INNkeeper system to the HAN organization.
Introducing CiMSO’s New Cloud Optimisation Tool
As part of CiMSO’s commitment to enhancing cloud-hosted solutions, CiMSO has developed a Cloud Optimisation Tool aimed at improving the speed and responsiveness of applications hosted remotely. Using the 80/20 principle, we strive to address the most impactful performance issues quickly, focusing on the areas where users experience the most latency or delays. This tool involves numerous small, targeted fixes to deliver substantial improvements across the board, with the option for additional refinements as needed.
With cloud performance testing in full swing, customers can expect a marked improvement in speed and efficiency for users across all cloud-based CiMSO solutions.
Looking Ahead
In 2025, CiMSO plans to expand multi-currency support and upgrade point-of-sale solutions to enhance integration across multi-property and multi-currency operations. These developments aim to deliver a superior front-end experience with improved stock, procurement integration and multi-property accounting features.
